 Guidelines and Mechanics for
Spelling Bee Competition
1. Eligibility
 The competition is open to students in Elementary, Junior, and Senior High
School.
 Each section must have two (2) participants.
2. Contest Levels:
 There are three levels in the contest:
Easy: Participants spell words in this round.
Average: Slightly more challenging words.
Difficult: The toughest round.
3. Word Count:
 Each level consists of 5 words to be spelled correctly.
4. Time Limits:
 Participant has specific time to spell each word.
Easy round: 10 seconds
Average round: 20 second
Difficult round: 30 seconds
5. Tiebreaker:
 If there’s a tie after the difficult round, contestants proceed to the
clincher round.
 In the clincher round, the first contestant to write the spelling gets
the point.
 The contestant with the highest points at the end of the difficult
round is declared as champion.
