CHALLENGE :

 The objective of the dynamic analysis is to Calculate Natural frequency,Technical frequency &
Time period of pipe Analytically And compare these results with software.

Formula :
START PROF MODEL :
 The START PROF Model on the graphical user interface is
shown below

 Pipe span length is with Rigid fixed support

Design code - ASME B31.3

pipe OD - 323.8 mm
Pipe ID - 288.84 mm
wall thickness - 17.48 mm
material - A106 GrB
Ambiant temp - 21 C
Fluid - water
Density of liquid - 1000 Kg/m3
Modulas of Elasticity - 200 x 109 Pa
CALCULATION :

Calculate MOI of pipe = I = 0.049 (D4 - d4) = 0.049(0.332384 - 0.288844 )

= 0.00019759 m4

Calaculate Natural frequency (f)

fn (Empty) = 1/2Π x 22.4 x √(200E9 x0.00019759)/(132.05 x 54 )

= 78.01 Hz

fn (Full) = 1/2Π x 22.4 x √(200E9 x0.00019759)/(197.57 x 54 )

= 63.77 Hz
SOLUTION :

Calaculate Angular frequency (ω)

Calaculate Angular frequency (ω(Empty)) : 2xΠxf = 2 x Π x 78.01 = 490 rad/sec

Calaculate Angular frequency (ω(Full)) : 2xΠxf = 2 x Π x 63.77 = 400 rad/sec

Calaculate Time period (T)

Calaculate Time period (T(Empty)) = 1/f = 1/78.01 = 0.012 Sec

Calaculate Time period (T(Full)) = 1/f = 1/63.77 = 0.015 Sec

RESULTS :

Condition when pipe is Empty

Condition when pipe is Full

CONCLUSION :
we concluded that The results obtained by manual calculation is with close proximity by software solution.
