Weekly Learning Objectives
Language Arts - In Reading, students discovered what point of view a story
was told in. We looked for clues to see who is telling the story. If a story is
told in first person point of view, the narrator is a character in the story.
We can figure out if a story told in first person point of view because the
author uses pronouns such as I, me, my, us, we. If a story is told in
third person point of view, the narrator is not a character in the story. We
look for keywords such as he, she, they, them.
In Writing students started drafting their personal narrative. We talked
about making sure we have an introduction that will grab the readers
attention. We also made sure we were adding details in our introduction and
body paragraphs so the reader will have a good picture of the small moment.
Math - In Math, students took a math test on adding and subtracting larger
numbers. We started our unit on prime and composite numbers. A prime
number is a number that only has two factors; one and itself. An example of
a prime number is 11! A composite number is a number that has more than
two factors. An example of a composite number is 24; its factors are 1, 2, 3,
4, 6, 8, 12, and 24!
