Activity: (MILF 2.4): Instructional planning: Attend and participate
in staffing meeting
Time: 3 hours
Artifact: Course request summary of totals of student requests by course
number.
I was able to work with Debi Slider, school counselor who created
the school master schedule. I was invited to observe the meeting regarding
staffing issues. This meeting addresses student requests for courses for the
upcoming school year.
Description:

Reflection: I spent approximately 2 hours reviewing the course requests


and master schedule with Debi Slider and Heidi Laupert. I spent an
additional hour observing the meeting with Mr. Calhoun regarding staffing
allocations and course requests. This is a critical issue for school principals.
It is important for the school to try and meet the demands of the students,
however they have to ensure there will be enough students enrolled in a
course in order to justify having it instead of a different course. This
appears to be a balancing issue and some students will end up
compromising with their schedule.
