Activity: Create and deliver a 2 hour presentation for teachers and
staff regarding bullying and school policy
Time: 8 hours
Artifact: Power point slide from presentation
Description: I was asked by the school principal to develop an in-service
presentation on the topic of bullying and how to reduce the behavior. This
has been a particularly difficult topic in regards to children and their access
to social media. The students are being bullied outside of school and it is
carrying over into their school day.

Reflection: I spent about 5 hours researching the topic of bullying in

schools and social media. I also interviewed several students on the topic of
bullying and harassment, which was another 2 hours. I was able to put
together and present a very thorough presentation on the topic which was
another hour. A large part of the problem seems to also revolve around how
students feel they are being treated by teachers and administration. It is
very important for students to feel they are being treated fairly by their
peers as well as administrators. This is one way to curb some of the bullying
in schools. Fairness applies to classroom issues as well as discipline matters.
