Lesson plan Date: May 9, 2012 Skill: Grammar, speaking Expected Outcomes: Students will be able to identify uses

of the past simple tense. Students will be able to produce meaningful sentences orally. Students will be able to produce correct utterances of English sounds. Resources: Whiteboard, whiteboard marker, worksheet, audio clip, radio, Travelers 8. Class Introduction Students comment on the contents of last class. Core of the class Pre-stage Students make simple sentences using the past tense. The teacher writes some sentences in the whiteboard. While-stage Students read aloud all of the sentences written by the teacher. Students work on their pronunciation with help from the teacher. Students work on the tongue twister in page 23 of their workbook. Post-stage Students attempt to create sentences again using the past simple while paying attention to pronunciation. Closing Students check the contents of the class by answering direct questions about the usage of the past simple. Students produce troublesome sounds to ensure learning.
