Eglinton Equestrian Club close to Londonderry, where 13-year-old Hannah Wiley was involved in a riding accident and later died
PICTURE: Margaret McLaughlin
THE minister of the teenage girl killed in a horse riding accident on Friday has spoken of the familys devastation. Hannah Wiley, 13, died after her horse fell going over a fence at Eglinton Equestrian Club in
Co Londonderry. The teenager, from Artigarvan in Tyrone, was described as a talented rider who had excelled at both school and sports. Her body was returned to the Wiley family home yesterday afternoon. The Rev Mark Russell, from Leckpatrick Presbyterian
Church, described the family as being distraught at the sense of loss. It is a terrible tragedy for any family to deal with and obviously they are very emotional, he said. In some ways it has brought comfort to them to have her body home, but it has also brought home the reality of her passing
as well, and that is very hard, and will be hard in the times ahead. Last night her parents Edmund and Ethna, along with her 12-year-old brother Aaron, were being comforted by family and friends as final preparations were being made ahead of Wednesdays funeral. Turn to page 4
