Will she float?

Josie braaten and Amy Breigenzer were two of the GHS

students building a cardboard boat in Todd Glasers
physics class. Mr. Glaser explains:
Every student started by researching boat designs
and finally coming up with a couple they like. Next,
students began building a prototype, a small scale
version, in which they built out of paper folders. These
must hold 40 golf balls for 90 seconds in a garbage
can in which we agitate the water with a drill that
has a large paint stirrer on the end. If successful the
students must build a cardboard boat to a large scale
in which it will then be compared to the prototype and
they are graded accordingly. Students basically use
cardboard, duck tape, painters caulk and water based
polyurethane. Students had to then row their boats up
and back in the pool of the Cottonwood and are timed
for calculations of acceleration and speed. Some of the
other concepts covered are how to calculate volume of
the boats, volume of displaced water, depth the boat
was in the water, strength ratios and approximately
how much weight could the boat hold before it sinks.
Students get extra credit for each additional person
they can hold but must go up and back in the pool to
get credit. Some boats held as many as 4 people. Its
quite surprising how much they can hold. Its great the
Cottonwood allows us to do this because even though
we clean up the best we can it is still a bit messy.

SALE at Robyns Nest!

Its
Puzzling...

Well, its tax time again and would ya believe it? I

just received an audit from the IRS on my tax return for
2014.

It puzzles me!!!
They are questioning how many dependents I
claimed. I guess it was because of my response to the
question, List all dependents?
I replied: 12 million illegal immigrants, 3 million
crack heads, 42 million unemployed people on food
stamps, 2 million people in over 243 prisons, half of
Mexico 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate and 1
useless President.

Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.

I keep asking myself, who the hell did I MISS?
