General instructions:

1. The assessment of Visual and Performing Arts Practical for the Drama
Improvisation option will be distributed to candidates only 10 to 15
minutes before the performance / practical assessment.

2. Administrators/schools will time table sessions for the

administration and scoring of the assessment.

3. Your choice to do this option for the practical paper would have been
discussed beforehand.

4. Your performance should be approximately 5 -10 minutes in duration.

5. Select ONE topic and create a scene based on it.

DRAMA IMPROVISATION

Choose a topic below and create a short scene based on it.

The teacher will assign students to groups.

1) The long walk home.

2) Every cloud has a silver lining.

3) One sibling tries to convince another who is shy to come to a party.

Your performance will be scored as follows:

Communicating with body 5marks

Communicating with voice 5 marks

Communicating with mind 5 marks

(Awareness of the human environment and relationships)

Awareness / Use of space 5 marks

The ability to work in groups 5 marks

TOTAL 25 marks
