Di Atas Lot 76103, Jalan Bazar U8/101, Seksyen U8, Bukit Jelutong, Shah
Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Untuk Tetuan Sime Darby Property Berhad.

The Project is to be developed by Sime Darby Property Berhad Sime Darby as

the Developer. Jurutera Budiman Sdn.Bhd. (JBSB) has been appointed by
Sime Darby as the Civil Consultant to carry out structural and infrastructural
design for the Project. This report is intended to present the design of the
water reticulation system for the development.

The size of the Project is 1.09 hectare which consists of 2 blocks apartment
with 162 units and a guard house.

2.0 Purpose of Report

The purpose of this report is to present the detailed design concept, detailed
calculation and network analysis of water supply system for the development.

WATER RETICULATION REPORT

This report is to describe and detail to Syabas, the consultant’s design

concepts for the water supply system and to seek the Authority’s approval.

3.0 The Site Existing Condition

The project area is located on flat land and the existing ground levels at
approximately ranges between 15.50m to 17.80m. The difference level
between the proposed platform and the existing terrain is averaged at 0.5m.
The layout plan of the proposed development within the existing development
area can be referred in the Appendix A.

4.0 Design Concept

4.1 Reference
The water reticulation system shall be designed in accordance with the
following guidelines:
 Uniform technical guideline Water Reticulation & Plumbing
published by SPAN

4.2 Source of Water Supply

Based on the report on the ‘Detail Design of Main Reticulation’ by KTA
Tenaga Sdn Bhd, the main source supply for Block D is mainly form the
Low Level Reservoir (TWL = 68.50 m ODL and BWL = 62.50 m ODL),
and the tapping point for this project is at the existing main pipeline
nearby Node 35 with peak flow pressure head of 30.523m.

For domestic usage, water will be supply from the incoming main pipe
to the internal suction tank provided; pump to the roof tank and
distribute to each unit by gravity.

4.3 Water Demand

The total water demand for the proposed development, is estimated in
accordance to the type of development, the number of units and built up
of area allocated as presented in Table 1.

Table 1: Water Demand

Avg Daily
Total Water
Type of Building Quantity Water
Demand (gpd)
Demand (gpd)
Apartment 162 440 71280.00
Club House 449 2.2 987.80
Management 560 2.2 1232.20
Guard House 1 330 330.00
Swimming Pool
(515 m3 / 7days x 2times refill 1 670 670.00
per week)
Total 74499.80
Allow for 5% 78300.00

4.4 Storage Provision

Minimum storage capacity provided shall be equivalent to:
a) One (1) day domestic demand
b) Two hour storage reserve, whichever is greater

4.5 Pipe Lines & Fittings

a) All pipe materials is using 150mm Ductile Iron (D.I) pipe and shall
comply with the current Malaysian Standard or Local Authority.
b) Air valve shall be provided at peak/low points or drain/culvert
crossing.
c) Adequate in line valves shall be provided to isolate sections of main
to facilitate maintenance.
d) Approved type of precast valve chambers shall be used

4.6 Pipe Cover

a) Minimum cover shall be 900mm
b) Minimum cover to pipe laid under paved area shall be 1200mm

4.7 Anchor/Thrust Block

 Shall be provided at all bends, tees and stop-ends and designed to
withstand full pressure test.

5.0 Analysis of Water Reticulation Network

Analysis of water reticulation network is carried out using MES programme,
based on Hazen-Williams formula. Hazen–Williams Coefficient (HWC) is taken
as C=100, Peak Factor for peak flow analysis is 2.5, and 1 for fire flow
analysis. Head losses in pipeline is limited to 2m/km for peak flow analysis and
the residual head at all nodes are in excess of 7.5m, while fire flow parameters
is taken as 1370 l/min (22.833 l/s).

6.0 Estimated Suction Tank Size

1. Suction Tank

Total average daily demand approx. = 78,300 gallon/day

As per requirement, the storage capacity

for suction tank shall be 33% of the

total average daily demand = 25,840 gallon/day

Suction Tank provided = 12.4m x 7.65 x 2.8m high (R.C)

Capacity = 58,430 gall > 25,840 gall – ok!
