PERMATA Event Management System using Web Push Notification

1.1 Background of Study

Persatuan Mahasiswa At-Taqwa (PERMATA) is an Islamic club, it has been in

operation and located at UITM Jasin, Melaka. Siti Nur Shakirah binti Suhaimi (personal
communication, September 10, 2018) is the one of the PERMATA’s high council and
her position is Secretary for PERMATA and she is the person who I have been
interview to get the information about PERMATA. High council is the one who
responsible to handle and lead the PERMATA Activities and there are four in bureau
in PERMATA which namely Leadership Bureau, Multimedia Bureau,
Entrepreneurship bureau, welfare bureau and for each bureau consist of twenty
Secretariat.

PERMATA organize many events and of them are Islamic event and activities.
For example, invite speaker to give talk, Quranic circle, and others. From all the events
and activities that provides, it needs a student to participate. Some of the events a
compulsory to participate. Each years PERMATA conduct at least one or two big
events that provides a lot of work and support.

1.2 Problem Statement

Time consuming
Take a lot of time when a plan, preparation and to deliver the information for all the
member. The problem here is, every time when it come for a new event, it need the
time to set a meeting and it kinder hard to get all the member to attend the meeting
because of time is unavailable e. So, this system might give easier to for the member
because it does need a lot of time to get information and everything.

Difficulty to track inactive member

 PERMATA manage event manually with many of member. When it come to a work it
kinder difficult to track all the member to do their part. There are some member that
did not worked at least once and irresponsibility to do work. Then, this system might
help to track the inactive member who did not give support and participate the event.

Late to notify the upcoming event

Normally Permata always inform for their next coming event using WhatsApp,
Facebook and so on. The problem here is the time when it informed it is important
because they need to have time for preparation and need to settle down with other
things. Usually they late to know about the next upcoming event and cause them do the
work unsteadily and make them do many works.

1.3 Project Aim

The aim is to develop PERMATA Event management using web push notification This
web based will provide efficient and effective information of the event and Permata
Progress This also can help the Secretariat alert with the upcoming event and involve
in the event.

1.4 Project Objectives

These objectives have to be stated to know whether the guidelines have been followed
and the objectives have been successfully achieved. The objectives of PERMATA
event management are as follows:
i. To gather and analyse the requirement from PERMATA for PERMATA Event
Management System using Web-Push notification
ii. To design Web Based PERMATA Event Management System by using web
push notification
iii. To develop a Web based PERMATA Event Management system using web
push notification.
