DEAR HIRING MANAGER ,

After reviewing the position description for your new graduate nurse program at Northwest Medical Center, I am
confident I am the best fit for your nest cohort. During my time at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, I have
accumulated over 900 hours in a variety of clinical specialty units. These units include pediatric medical-surgical, adult
medical-surgical, postpartum, medical intensive care, neurological intensive care, and oncology stepdown. These clinical
experiences have allowed me to develop nursing skills that I will carry with me into a professional role. I have developed
my therapeutic communication, clinical organization, documentation, patient assessment, and critical thinking skills
during this time and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to expand on these skills as a participant in the new
graduate program.

I will be an integral part of your team of nurses because I am strong-willed. I am grateful that I have found the profession
of nursing because being a nurse allows me to advocate for patients and families when they are unable to do so
themselves. I am passionate about ensuring that my patients receive sensitive and high-quality care. My desire for being
engaged in my work is another reason that I am the best fit for this job. I am the most engaged with my work when I am
doing something that presents a challenge. Applying my knowledge and skills to help others overcome their challenges
each day is what makes nursing the ideal career for me.

Mentorship by experienced nurse preceptors will be instrumental in expanding my clinical knowledge and preparing me
for the transition from student to registered nurse. My understanding of the importance of accountability, responsibility,
and integrity makes me an excellent candidate for this position. As I reflect on my strengths and passions while reviewing
the new graduate opportunities, I am most intrigued by Medical Oncology, MSICU, and CVICU. I appreciate your interest
in my application and look forward to hearing from you.

I look forward to speaking with you about my application for your program and how I can best serve the patients and
healthcare teams at Northwest. I can be reached at (520) 208-1833. I will be graduating from the University of Arizona in
May 2019.

Sincerely,
Karli Basakos
