Dear Sir/Madam,

I, Sudhanshu Pareek, am a final year student of Chemical Engineering at IIT Bombay and I’m
interested in applying for the position of Business Analyst at Monitor-Deloitte group.

I have always wanted a job that is intellectually stimulating and that can give significant amount
of responsibility in a dynamic environment. A consulting job is a remarkable opportunity of
professional and personal growth which no other job can provide to a fresh graduate. A
management consultancy job gives an opportunity to work on projects across different
functions and sectors which will help me gain diverse insights across businesses. In addition,
the impact that one can create as a consultant by solving real life problems that business leaders
have to deal with will surely provide high levels of job satisfaction.

I identify myself as a potential fit for Monitor-Deloitte Group as my experiences at IIT B have
helped me hone my analytical skills, leadership potential, problem solving skills, and people
skills. As a Core Group Member of Mood Indigo, I cherished the experience of organising events
for participants across India with an aim to create an impact by providing the winners showcase
opportunities at prestigious stages. Being culturally active for 3 years, I was nominated as the
Institute Cultural Nominee to serve the institute cultural community of 2500 people. At both
these positions, I led teams and learnt how to reach a consensus while working with people
with varied opinions and to motivate them to perform to their best with maximum cooperation.

In my recent internship at Godrej Consumers Product Ltd., I worked in Personal Care division to
solve agglomeration problem in deodorants that was hindering the company to launch a new
product (first of its kind). I came up with an implementable solution and suggested a
formulation which will be used by the company for the final product in the coming months. This
experience gave me a taste of workplace professionalism and taught me how to perform
effectively in a demanding environment. While dealing with a new & unique problem which
required a vast understanding of that field to which I had no exposure before, I was still able to
deliver results & I received a pre-placement offer for my efforts.

Being inclined towards management, I procured an internship under Prof. Anindya Ghosh (IESE
Business School, Spain) to work on a project on Mergers and Acquisitions with a multi-cultural
team. The project included data management and strategic modelling honing my quantitative
aptitude and analytical skills.

The core value of Monitor Group to be difference makers and to see strategy through to
implementation sets it apart from its other competitors. The Monitor Group has always been
driven to create value through leading-edge methods, not just for the client, but for the society
as a whole; something which resonates with my belief. The two year business analyst program
at Monitor would offer me world-class training and deep hands-on implementation guidance to
ensure that I start delivering as a consultant from Day One. My aspirations of being a part of the
Monitor-Deloitte group are reinforced by seeing the firm’s commitment to diversity, its stress
on analytics and valuable mentoring provided to the consultants.
