    a. open channel flow


    b. pipe flow

    Both of them the several concept is same value, but have different which important etc :

    a. flow in open channel must have surface which influence by the atmosphere pressure
    b. flow in pipe not influence by the atmosphere pressure except by hydraulic pressure
