“Pen Survey Evaluation”

INTRODUCTION

The usage of pen and markers have become the staple of all level of students in their
daily life in school. Using the all-purpose writing material, the students will be able to secure
notes, answer questions, make assignments, drawing figures and such.

By knowing the basic information, the study for pen material will be covered by
ranking the Types of Pen being used, the ranking of the different respective Brands of the pen,
and choose the Most used Pen in the following brands that have been ranked.

I. SAMPLE SIZE

In order to study further the data about the pen, I have conducted a simple survey
in my class, K02, within the age range of the students, 18 to 21. With the sample size of 32
students, to be divided each by the Gender, male and female.

II. TYPES OF PEN RANKING

Information about the types of pen useability

The ranking of the types of pen usage will be ranked using frequency table, making
the questionnaire marked in the checkbox form, to gather information about the students’ total
usage of different types of pen within the school premise.

Ranking result BALLPOINT PEN(28) 87.5%

The ranking shows at following; the Ballpoint pen because the first ranking with an
astonishing 87.5% are using the respective type of pen. With all the other types of pen falling
all falling around 40% as it shows that the usage of such type of pen is not common as the
Ballpoint pen. The students of K02 shows that the staple of pen usage is common towards the
ballpoint pen than the others, as it shows in the table concretely.
III. MOST POPULAR BRAND RANKING

Information about the most popular brand of pen

The ranking of the types of pen usage will be ranked using frequency table, making
the questionnaire marked in the checkbox form, to gather information about the students’ most
recognized brand of pen within the school premise.

Ranking result G-TECH PEN(20) 62.5%

As the ranking concludes, the 62.5% G-TECH pen won by close margin of almost
10% towards the second brand, PILOT. Although overall the rankings of the brands of pen is
very close to each other aside from the bottom three; frixion, parker, and executive which is not
recognized by almost all of K02 students.
IV. PEN BASELINE

PEN CANDIDACY

As the most used recognized brand of pen were concluded by the G-TECH winning.
The pen baseline is still not concluded so a question is formed by the main point of finding the
Most Used Pen, not by recognized terms. It is structured by using a choice type question,
meaning only 1 answer from student, to get a concrete evidence and to conclude the baseline
of the pen in the quality table.

As the table suggests, the G-TECH with the tally of 12 students and 37.5% total of
K02 students will be the main baseline for the next questions of the quality of the pen. The score
might be low than to be expected but it is still viable because of previous recognition in the Most
recognized pen table.
V. QUALITIES OF G-TECH PEN

Question details of qualities of G-TECH pen

The qualities of G-tech pen will be divided into five categories; Price, Brand name,
Design, Comfortability, and Customer Satisfactory. In which to be scored by rating each
qualities 1-5 (1 – lowest, 5 – highest) by the sample size of K02 section in order to get the
mean value for the conclusion. The raw data shall be presented by the frequency table and
the mean shall be presented by the histogram.

VI. Conclusion

With the students of K02 having the most used pen, G-TECH, even though the
concluded most recognized type to be Ballpoint pen because it is so common. The G-TECH
pen provide such intense quality assurance as it averages 3.625 in OVERALL Quality and its
main point of quality is the Customer Satisfaction.

Although the Comfortability comes in next to the customer satisfaction with a little
amount of difference. Overall, the conclusion is that the G-tech pen is the most used brand of
pen in the K02 section.

College students have the tendency to switch into Gel Pens instead of ballpoint pens
because of the comfortability it provides and the sleek design, and after all it gives an adult vibe
on the strokes of the lines it can provide.
