Project Brief
An exploration company was awarded a new concession in the Eastern desert with commitment to perform
a 100-sq. km of seismic and drilling a new well within the 3 years of the exploration phase. The company
would like to use engineering project management to full fill its obligation on time. The main target is to
perform the seismic and drill the well. The seismic should include, seismic acquisition, processing and
interpretation, and then the drilling will start.

For both of the seismic and drilling you need to have permits from the following departments: -
• Ministry of Defense
• Ministry of Interior
• Ministry of Antiquities
• Ministry of Transportation
• Ministry of Communication
• Ministry of Electricity
• Environmental Authority
• Ministry of Irrigation
• EGAS and Ministry of Petroleum

Project Requirements: -
 Write a brief introduction about the main idea of the project (1000 words)
 Set the calendar to match the petroleum industry
 Enter the tasks, durations, predecessors
 Adjust the Gantt chart
 Enter appropriate milestones and explain your choice
 Print the Gantt chart and project network showing the critical path (on A3 papers)
 Construct an AON diagram showing ES, EF, LS, LF, slack, duration, and the critical path.
(This should be done on a separate A3 paper by hand)

 Write 1 page minutes of meeting (individually).

The deadline for submitting the project is on Sunday 2nd of December 2019.
