Forces, Motion, and Energy
a.) Forces and Motion
Force = Mass × Acceleration
Newton’s First Law\ Law of Inertia
- A body will remain at rest or move at constant velocity unless
acted upon by an external net or unbalanced force.
Newton’s Second Law\ Law of Acceleration
- The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the
magnitude of the net force acting on it and is inversely
proportional to its mass.
Newton’s Third Law\ Law of Interaction
- Every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
b.) Work and Energy
Work = Force × Distance
- When work is done by an object it loses energy, and when work
is done on an object it gains energy.
- Work is a way transferring of energy.
- Energy is the capacity to do work.
- Power is the rate of doing work or the rate of using energy.

c.) Heat and Temperature

- Heat is the transfer of energy between objects or places
because of the difference in temperature.
- Heat exists as “ energy in transit “ and is not contained on an
object.
- Temperature is the average kinetic energy of the particles and
it does not depend on the mass of the object.

d.) Sounds
- Sonic boom is the loud explosive sound heard on the ground
- Sound is a longitudinal wave.
Quadrilaterals
Quadrilateral is a polygon with four edges (sides) and four vertices or
corners.
