A. Problem Solving
 The teacher will group the class into two according to their
seat rows.
 The teacher will post a picture on the board.
 The picture is consisting of different kinds of shapes.
 Every group will identify the specific names of every picture.
 The first group who can guess the exact names of every
picture will be a winner.
 The activity will consist of 3 minutes.

B. Communication
 The teacher will divided the group into four.
 Every group will be given a specific picture.
 Each group should use their specific pictures of shapes.
 They will use the picture of shapes and identify the uses
of it and give and example of an object that their shape is
present.
 Every group will select a representative to present their
ideas.
 Every group should present atleast 2 minutes.

C. Reasoning and Proof
The teacher will show a drawing of a house and ask pupils
the following questions:
 What kind of shapes you see on the drawing?
 How important the basic shapes are?
 Do you think you can draw or build a house without
basic shapes?
 The activity will consume 4 minutes of the class.

 Discussion & Generalization


1. Circle – a shape that has no sides.
2. Triangle – A shape that has 3 sides.
3. Square – a shape that has 4 equal sides.
4. Oval – A shape that has no sides and is longer
than a circle
5. Rectangle – A shape that has 2 long sides and 2
short sides.
6. Diamond – a shape that has 4 diagonal equal
lines. Also known as rhombus.
D. Representation
 the teacher will select a pupil in random
 After choosing a pupil, the teacher will show a picture of
shape on the pupil.
 The pupil will guess the picture and give an example where
we can see the shape.

E. Connection
 The teacher will instruct the pupil to draw a house using the
different basic shapes.
 After the pupil draws a house, the teacher will select two
volunteer to present their drawings.
