PRESS NOTE

To expedite construction of INDIRAMMA houses, in which the beneficiaries are

active, the district administration and Project Director (Housing) have been
directed to take following actions:-

(i) The active beneficiary list is to be divided village wise and

responsibility is to be fixed on the AE and DyEE by name to
ensure the progress of the houses.

(ii) The concerned EE also should be made responsible to achieve

the progress and he has to review the progress of the divisions
under his supervision on weekly basis.

(iii) The Project Director (Housing) should review the progress on

fortnightly basis with the EEs/DyEEs at district level to see that
the target is achieved during the current year and submit
reports to the District Collector and Head Office for monitoring
purposes.

(iv) Monthly targets have to be fixed based on the active workload.

Achievement against targets will be considered as one of the
parameters to evaluate the performance of AE, DyEE, EE and
Project Director (Housing).

2. In addition, the District Collector and Project Director (Housing) have

been directed to mobilize the bridge loans of Rs 20,000/- in rural areas and Rs
30,000/- in urban areas, through Self Help Groups in co-ordination with PD,
DRDA to ensure that additional finances is available with the beneficiaries for
early completion of their houses. The District Collectors have been asked to
review this item jointly with Project Director (Housing) and
Project Director (DRDA).

3. Further, District Collectors have been asked to explore the possibility of

involving NGOs, with additional financial contribution to complete these
houses, especially in poorest of the poor cases.

4. It is estimated that about 13.83 lakh houses are in the active stages, of
which about 5.93 lakh houses are at Lintel level (LL) and Roof level (RL)
stages. Directions have been issued to ensure completion of houses at LL & RL
level and bring the other houses Below Basement Level (BBL) and
Basement Level (BL) to advanced stages.

5. Detailed instructions have been issued to all District Collectors and

Project Directors (Housing) vide this office Lr No: 4327/Action Plan/
