Greetings!

One of the courses under the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, CE 521 – CE Design
Project 1 requires the students to have a Capstone Design Proposal Presentation. This will be
presented to and evaluated by a panel of evaluators composed of faculty and or professionals
who had worked on the related field to which the topic is included. The presentation and
evaluation are to be done in order to ensure that the topic to which the students will be working
on as capstone design requirement is in-line with their specialization, and aligned on the
University, DOST, CHED and NEDA agenda for research. Through this activity, the students
will learn how to present and defend their idea; learn to communicate well; know how to write a
research report; scrutinize and organize thoughts of their discussion; and check the viability of
executing the capstone design project within specified time and budget.

In relation, may I request for you to be part of the board of panel evaluators for the Capstone
Design proposal, composed of:

The group’s CE Design Project proposal is entitled “Proposed Site Development Plan of
Socialized Housing in Brgy. Tabangao Ambulong, Batangas City”. The presentation will be
on November 19, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Environmental Laboratory, Ground
Floor, CEAFA Building. I would like also to inform you that the Department released an
Undergraduate CE Design Project Guidelines that will guide them in the format of their
manuscript. Your comments and suggestions will be of great help to its improvement. Also, this
may guide you in checking and evaluating the work of the students.

With your assistance, it will be of great help for the students in evaluating and validating the
topic for their Capstone Project. The capstone project will continue up to CE 522 – CE Design
Project 2 which will be accomplished next semester.
