Materials ● Computer
● Projector
● WordArt website
● Printer and paper
● Chromebooks
Instructional Strategies and Procedures 1. Before students come into the library,
make sure the computer screen has the
WordArt website displayed and the
projector is on (wordart.com)
a. Sign into WordArt using
Google username and
password
2. Allow students a few minutes to get
situated when coming into class and
tell them they will need their
Chromebooks out.
3. Ask students if any of them have used
WordArt before?
a. Explain that it is a compilation
of words that are displayed in a
picture.
4. Then explain what the students will be
completing today.
a. They will be making their own
WordArt with a list of words
that describes who they are.
Explain that they should be
using their top ten list of words
they created in class.
b. Show example WordArt.
c. The requirements for the
assignment are that they must
include their first and last
name and their section and use
the list they already compiled.
5. Now have students get on their
chromebooks and go to Nearpod to
view the WordArt video tutorial.
6. After they have completed the activity,
they will print out one copy from the
library computers not their
chromebooks.
7. Students may then use the remainder
of the time to do quiet book selection
and read at their desks.
Assessment 1. Students will view the WordArt
tutorial and complete assignment.
2. Students will print one copy of the
WordArt activity.
