Primary education first began in Agsam in 1950 in a private home, and was later transferred to another location in 1960 when Agsam became officially recognized as a barangay. The earliest teachers and the barangay officials organized the first Parent-Teacher Association in 1960 and began construction of the first permanent school building. The school was then permanently located to its current site in 1962. It became a complete elementary school in 1967. In 2009-2010, through efforts of school and barangay officials, it was renamed to Agsam Integrated School with the addition of a high school department. The document lists the successive school heads from 1962 to the present.

Sometime in 1950, when the place was still a sitio,
Primary Education was opened in Upper Daniog [Daniog Taas] in the lot owned by Mr. and Mrs. Climaco Abelo Guinitaran but was closed and transferred to Lower Daniog [Daniog ubos] in 1960 when Agsam was formally recognized as a Barangay by virtue of Executive Order No. 1 dated November 4, 1960 and Republic Act No. 2370. For the moment, the house of Mr. Procopio Maquiling was considered as the Learning Center for two years. The earliest teachers were Mrs. Celsa Ebol and Mr. Miguel M. Miranda who handled Grades I and II, respectively. On that same year, the Barangay Officials together with the thirteen earliest settlers organized the first Parent- Teachers Association [PTA] and initiated the construction of the first permanent school building. In 1962, two years after the birth of Barangay Agsam, the school was transferred again to where it is now permanently, until finally, it became a complete Elementary School in 1967. In school year 2009-2010, through the efforts of the GPTA spearheaded by its President, Ex-Kagawad Myrna R. Ascares; Barangay Officials headed by Barangay Captain Ronito M. Maquiling together with the School Principal, Mrs. Gemmalynda P. Montenegro, the school was named to Agsam Integrated School because of the opening of the High School Department.
