TASK PERFORMANCE

Instructions:

1. First, remember your grouping for the topic “Historical Antecedents that Changed the Course of
Science and Technology.” There should be four (4) groups: Ancient, Medieval, Modern, and the
Philippines.
2. Sit with your respective group and accomplish the following:
a. The group will be designing a newspaper that will tackle science, technology, and society
in the particular historical period you are in.
b. The newspaper must contain the following sections:
i. Headline/News-Feature: about the prominent issue of the period
ii. Opinion and Politics: about the rulers and policies of the period
iii. Entertainment: major forms of art and entertainment
iv. Sports News: specific sports developed during the period
v. Science and Technology: particular inventions and discoveries
vi. Health and Beauty: facts and pictures about cosmetics, health beliefs, etc.
vii. Editorial: article on what could probably happen in the future based on the current
situation
viii. Editorial Cartoon: depicts the editorial
c. The content of each section must reflect the condition of your particular historical period.
d. The size of your newspaper must be 29.5 by 23.5 inches, the standard size of a
broadsheet. It must be made from quality paper that can withstand wear and tear due to
use of several individuals.
e. The broadsheet must also contain an interesting title and layout, indicative of the time
period the group is working on.
3. The final output will be graded using the rubric below:

4. Final products will be displayed during the first session of Week 5, tagged as “Coffee House Day.”
The groups will convene to design the room as a café, where the class can stay, evaluate each
other’s work, and drink coffee.
