SHOVEL CLEAN UP
Step PROCEDURE Person

1 Loading Zone Clean-up

CCP Extreme caution must be shown when required to provide a clean-up Dozer
service in or around the loading zone. At all times check the area behind Operator
the track dozer before reversing. Before entering the loading zone apply
the following guidelines ;
1. Visually or radio contact the loading unit operator to signal the
intention to provide a clean-up service.
2. The track dozer must wait out side the restricted work area (25
meter radius from the loading unit / counterweight swing radius)
until the loading unit operator signals either visually or audibly to
commence the clean-up operation.
3. When dozing in the loading zone, always push perpendicular to the
dig-face.
CAUTION : Do not push across or parallel to the dig-face. Dig-face
failure has the potential to serious personal injury and machine
damage. Different dozing method may be carried out on
supervisor’s approval.
4. When the clean-up service is complete, visually or radio contact
inform the loading unit operator.
5. Specifically for cleaning up a coal loading point, dozing operation
will move to the same direction with that of backhoe’s excavation
by observing the excavating direction.
6. Specifically for Shovel, use a flag on the rear part of counter weight
for a reference when cleaning up a loading point. If there is no flag,
Shovel must stop before the cleaning is continued.
