NMES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AT HOME

April 20-24
Hello NMES students and families. Below are some activities to challenge you to stay
active this week for at least 30 mins a day. We want to see how you are making out
so please tweet us some pictures @nmesPhysEd. Let’s stay ACTIVE and HEALTHY
and WELL! 

Movement Monday Show off your Fundamental movement skills….


With a partner, play Rock, Paper, Scissors and the winner chooses a
movement or exercise for the other to perform ( hop, jump, skip, mountain
climbers, etc) Roll dice or make cards with numbers 1-6 and pick the
number of repetitions the other must perform. For our older students
include multiplication skills and multiply the number for more reps.

“Tune Up Your Skills” Tuesday Create a game using skills you have… Can
include any skill: striking, shooting, underhand toss, bowling, overhand throw, etc.
Teach a family member your new game.

Wellness Wednesday-Take your family for a 30 min walk and play a


game of “I Spy” along the way. Each person gets only one guess- if
incorrect- choose an exercise for them to perform.

“Show Off” Thursday- Create a Dance or Gymnastics routine – or show-off


the skills you’ve been working on (trick basketball shot, stick handling, jump rope
skills) Don’t forget to share a pic with us!

Fitness Friday- Create a circuit of exercises to perform 3 times Ex. Begin 15


Jumping Jacks, 20 Mountain climbers, 45 seconds of wall sits, 8 push-ups. 30 secs
of the Plank……repeat 2 more times. Be creative, but really challenge yourself
(younger students reduce the number of reps but push yourself so you’re
breathing heavy) Well done!
