OBJETIVES: Explain the 3Rs system for disposing of domestic waste. Sort waste into materials that can be recycled or
reused.

Activities
1. Read pages 37 - 38 of your pupil’s book.
2. Do activity 1 and keep the record in your notebook (Page 37)
Activity 1
• Set up a three-bin system for the waste from your home.
• Check regularly to make sure that all waste is placed in the correct bin.
• Weigh the bins and record how much of each type of waste you produce in a day/week. Display your results on a
bar chart.
• Make the observation for 4 weeks.
