Final Essay Workday 1
Brainstorming Ideas/Some possibilities

To receive credit, your group must submit this document to BlackboardWeek 11Final Essay
Workday 1. Please make sure you have TWO big ideas/possible elements and that your group
has “fleshed” out these ideas. Each member should also have a specific task moving forward
(research on topic, finding listening examples, etc.).

You can create any kind of musical element you like – so be creative! Your element shouldn’t be
lyrical or content specific (although that might be a “facet” of your element), but it should focus
on aspects of sound that you can hear across diverse musical examples. You cannot choose
musical elements that Ratliff discusses or those that are well established (harmony, texture,
form, melody, etc.).
