PARRALLEL STRUCTURE

I. Ý NGHĨA CỦA CẤU TRÚC SONG HÀNH:

Eg:

- When teenagers finish high school, they have several choices: going to college, getting a job, or the
army. (Incorrect)
- When teenagers finish high school, they have several choices: going to college, getting a job, or
joining the army. (Correct)

as….as

the same……as

similar……to

Eg:

-The branch office in Denver was better equipped than Houston. (Incorrect)
-The branch office in Denver was better equipped than the one in Houston. ( Correct)

* LƯU Ý:

Eg:
-We considered moving to a small town in the Northwest or a suburb of Denver. (Incorrect)

-We considered moving to a small town in the Northwest or to a suburb of Denver. (Correct)

Eg:
- On his first visit to New York he was delighted with the sound of people speaking English, with the
grandeur of the architecture being built in the center of the city, and with the delicious feeling of a
person being away from home.
- On his first visit to New York he was delighted with the sound of people speaking English, the
grandeur of the architecture being built in the center of the city, and the delicious feeling of a person
being away from home.
