What is the deflections?
Solutions:-
Deflection
In engineering, deflection is the degree to which a structural element is displaced under
a load (due to its deformation). It may refer to an angle or a distance.The deflection distance of a
member under a load can be calculated by integrating the function that mathematically describes
the slope of the deflected shape of the member under that load .

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------
The deflection of the beam can be computed by the following
• Moment -area method
• Superposition method
• Double integration method
• Macaulayś method
• Castiglioneś method
• Direct stiffness method
• Slope deflection Method

Solutions:-

y/x=30/1.5 →y=30x/1.5

R=y-30 →R=30x/1.5 -30 →R=30x/1.5 -45/1.5

∴R=30X-45/1.5

EIy'= Ay x²/2+ MA x¹- 22.5(x-1)²/2 +C1

EIy = Ay x³/6 +MA X²/2- 22.5(X-1)³/6+C1x+ C2

Boundary conditions:-

at X=3 →y=3. X=3 →y'=0

EIy=Ay x³/6+MA x²/2-22.5(x-1)³/6+C1x +C2

4.5Ay=30-3-4.5MA Ay= 27-4.5MA/4.5 ------------------❶

at x=3 →y'=0

0=Ay(3)⁰/2+MA(3)+30-4.5(MA+Ay)-22.5(3-1)²/2

0=4.5Ay+3MA-45+ 30- 4.5MA-4.5Ay -------------- ❷

by sub ❶of❷

0=4.5( 27-4.5MA)/4.5 + 3MA -45 + ((30-4.5MA- (27-4.5)/4.5))/3

0=27-4.5MA +3MA-45+ (30-4.5MA-6+MA)/3

0=27-4.5MA +3MA -45+8-1.165MA →0=-2.665 MA -10 →MA= -10/2.665 →MA= -3.752 kN.m

By substituting Ay equation

Ay= (27-4.5MA( /4.5 →Ay=27-4.5(-3.752) →Ay=9.76 kN

By substituting Ay of C1 equation

C1=30-(4.5(9.75-3.752))/3 →C1=(30-27)/3 →C1=3/3 → C1=1

Deflection equation

EIy=9.75 x³/6 - 3.752x²/2 - 22.5(x-1)³/6 + 1
