Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☒ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): PowerPoint will be used in this lesson to provide a fun and creative
learning environment. The document allows for you to hear the sounds to every letter of the alphabet. The
activity created enhances the learning experience for each student in the classroom. Students will clearly see
visuals and make real life connections to each letter. In correlation to the UDL wheel, the information
presented in the lesson provides multiple means of representation for students.
Lesson Idea Implemation: This lesson will begin with a PowerPoint of the alphabet. The PowerPoint will
introduce the students to the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. After that, the students can go through and
hear the sounds by using immersive reader. Next, I will give each student a letter of the alphabet. After
assigning the letters, students will be put in order of the alphabet for the letter they are given. Then, we will
go through the letters, down the line of students, with each student saying their assigned letter. While looking
at the PowerPoint, students will then be given a print out of the first letter of their name. They will then draw
pictures inside the letter. The pictures they draw must start with the first letter of their name. Once students
are done, they will pass their letter to the student next to them and add a picture of something that starts
with their name. This lesson will take 15 minutes to go through the PowerPoint and 45 minutes to create and
collaborate with other student’s creations. After this lesson, students will be assessed on the material they
learned, by creating their own poster board of the alphabet. These poster boards will be colored and then
displayed in the hallways of the school.
Reflective Practice: The lesson I have created embodies different learning styles that have a positive impact
on students. The way the lesson is set up is in a way that students can understand and interact with the
information that is taught. To further expand this lesson, students can bring in items from home, until they
complete the alphabet, and tell the class which letter of the alphabet the item starts with. This can be a
