Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):

☐ Remembering ☒ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☒ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Goal: Students should be able to know the difference between light and sound as well as determine different
ways to communicate using light or sound. What various objects make sound and where is our source of light.
Lesson idea and implementation In my lesson plan, I will have the students do an activity that goes after the
PowerPoint so they can visually see a representation. They will get to play around with flashlights and
different objects that create sound. Their learning will be assessed through observation made during the
activity. I can create more in depth questions about light and sound for those students who feel they need
more of a challenge. I will end the lesson with a worksheet and provide feedback on there.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This activity enhances their learning by having different ways to view
and understand the material. Reading an ebook and then doing an activity to go with it will help them
understand what they just saw and make better connections. They stay engaged through a hands-on activity
and they represent with their actions during the activity.
Reflective Practice: I feel that it could make them understand what they have learned better by doing
different informative tasks about light and sound. I think having them physically look at light and hear sound
in different ways will really help engrain what they have learned.
