Chapter III – Environmental Analysis

Strengths
Page
9

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

We have unique and delicious muffin, the bacon and cheese muffin. You can
get it with the lowest/cheapest price and yet it still have the best quality to be
offered. It is a factor that can make the business grow. Also, we offer good
standard and services for our customers. We can provide services and twists
in our products with the help of our creative and innovative minds. We have to
sell not only an amazing "show" as the muffins are created, but also an above
and beyond service team who are knowledgeable and friendly. Customers will
always feel welcome and at home at Bakin’ Bacon. One of the unique or
lowest cost resources we can draw that others can’t is our business logo,
because we have a layout artist in our team so we don’t need to negotiate with
anyone and pay them just to create our logo. Bakin’ Bacon is offering a unique
muffin that is easy in, easy out. Customers will love how easy to buy our
product. We are always there for our customers. We give them peace of mind
through our unique muffin. We treat our customer like royalty, even if we are
not a service industry. Our Bacon and Cheese muffin inspires people to think
outside the box. We are confident enough in our product to stand behind it
100%. “Muffin’s from heaven that would give you abs…olutely yumminess.

Weaknesses
"Bake it and they will come" doesn't work in real life, only in the movies. You
may think that our baked muffins will sell themselves, but unless we let
customers know about our product, no one will be eating our muffins. We end
up improving our social media accounts to develop a list of friends, groups and
followers. Announcing specials, new flavored muffins and recipes through the
social media sites as well as on our blogs or official website. Our company will
avoid the tendency that our customers will be tired of our muffins that may
result in dull sales, so we will ensure that our product will upgrade depending
on the trend so it will be always in line to the wants of the customers. So far,
we have been able to identify a few weakness on our part. The fact that we
Page
10

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

might possibly launch out big with a bang and start competing with other
entrepreneurs in the Lyceum of the Philippines may likely count to our
disadvantages, but we are perfecting plans on our own to leverage on our
moderate resources to maximize profits. Another weakness of our business is
we have limited funds available. One factors that can lose our sales is that
customers may be disappointed with the product. Customers will not be
satisfied to the texture and taste of the bacon and cheese muffin. Lack of
engagement can also be a factor of losing sales. If we were not able to create
interaction, the business were not able to grow or successful. Another one is
poor attitude, customers will be disappointed on how we act. Lastly, failing to
do the best. You made a lot of actions but it is not enough to make business
successful.

Opportunities

The holiday season wherein our muffins will be more in demand to the
consumers because it can be bought to use as a gift or as one of the dessert
or snack in a feast or party. Because our muffins knows no age so everyone
are able to enjoy it. Bakin’ Bacon can expand not only in Laguna but in the
whole country. We are able to introduce the different and new varieties of
muffin and Bakin’ Bacon can emphasize and publicize the online ordering of
products or gifts. Also we can do online retailing in which having an online site
for businesses is almost a necessity in the current business climate, and it
would be a great way to advertise our products and possibly expand our
business.

Threats
The quality standards or specification for our job, products or services
changing, but in a good way. Since our business will continuously grow, we
should also change or upgrade our product as well as our service. Such as
Page
11

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

giving our muffins different twists that we think our customers will still be able
to enjoy it; for the service, we will ensure that our employees will be more
approachable and friendly towards the customers. For us to be able to gain
and keep the interest of our customers and their positive feedbacks not only in
our food but also in our service. The changing technology threatening your
position, Somehow yes, because we might not be able to sync in terms of
advanced machines or equipment since it might be too expensive for us to buy
it. But, in terms of promoting, we will surely be able to boost the popularity of
our product, because as one of the millennials, we know what can possibly
draw the attention of the people by using the social media. Also one of our
threats is that, our competitors had their own product. We also have
competitors in food business like the Ala Oreo Are Company and the Kainin
mo ang Cookies ko company. They offer oreo lasagna and some cookies.
With the obstacles we are going to face, our business would face obstacles
like the decision-making. Since us, the students, new entrepreneurs are forced
to make hundreds of decision before we make our product. Sometimes
decision fatigue cannot be avoid. New entrepreneurs like us should be
prepared for the whole new level of stress.
