detail. What are the major deliverables associated with hosting an event?

Answer:

We use work breakdown structure to divide the project into different work pieces that could be
completed efficiently and effectively. Thus, the major deliverables for this project are as follow:

1. Announcement: it is the first deliverable of the project. Announcement enables to reach the
news to mass. It can be done via below ways.

registrations. Fees, criteria for entrance and other related stuff would be under this

 1. How would developing a WBS alleviate some of the problems that occurred
during the first meeting and help Nicolette organize and plan the project?

Experts of project management use WBS (Work breakdown structure) as a process to divide the
project into sub divisions for multiple purposes. The work breakdown structure helps practitioners
and all concerned individuals to understand the project as simple as it can be. It helps in eliminating
the complexities associated with the project. In addition, WBS helps manager to identify the risks
easily tracked in each structure of the project. Though, WBS helps in solving the problems as
below:

i. While developing the WBS, managers can discuss with each other and share their opinions
on various aspects of the project.
ii. The WBS system would help the members and all stuff a clear insight about the project
and how it would launch. It can be a source of information for the members that how the
projects look like.

2. Where can Nicolette find additional information to help her develop a WBS for
the tournament?
Answer:

We believe that information is power. Thus, to get information, Nicolette can opt for various ways
to get the required information. Routs to get information are as follow:

I. Nicolette can consult other experts of project management who did the work on the same
projects in the past and having sufficient experience about it.
II. The next source for getting information is the industry. she can use the industry approaches
and can use those to have insights about developing work breakdown structure.

3. How could Nicolette and her task force use the WBS to generate cost estimates
for the tournament? Why would this be useful information?

• WBS helps the Nicolette to predict accurately about the cost. It will provide an insight
about the associated costs to the sponsors of the game.

• It provides different and distinct information about the deliverables line the distribution of
medals, trophies, certificates and cash.
• As the purpose of arranging the tournament is to generate the revenue, developing a WBS
would help to draw a clear conclusion about the costs and revenues.
