The teacher will show the picture of Lyca Gairanod and will
ask some questions regarding the image.

The teacher will post guide questions and will be read by the
students before reading proper.
Students will read the text entitled “A Winner Never Quits”.

Answer the Questions:

1. How old is Lyca?


2. At her age, what do other people think of her?
3. What kind of work did she do to help her parents earn money?
4. What hindrance did she meet while having The Voice Kids
training?
5. How much did she earn in a day?
6. What is her dream in life?
7. What hardship did she encounter before she became the Grand
Winner of The Voice Kids?

2. What are the parts of simple sentence?

 Ask students to tell something about the pictures.

 Have the students analyze the compound sentence posted on the
screen.
 Ask the students to enumerate the coordinating conjunctions.

 Ask the class to combine the two simple sentences in each
number.

conjunction in connecting two simple sentences.

 Group the students into six. Tell them to talk about the picture
assigned to them. With their respective assigned picture, ask
them to construct three compound sentences using coordinating
conjunctions.
 Give each group the opportunity to present their output in front
of the class.

IV. ASSIGNMENT:
1. In your notebook, write two simple sentences about the positive traits of
the Africans. Then connect your two simple sentences with coordinating
conjunctions.
2. What is complex sentence?
3. Write one example of complex sentence.
