Tips and cautions for operating

PL 1. Not start two or more machines simultaneously. Start them one by one.
2. Warm up the engine without load for about 3 minutes. lf the generator is to supply power
to more than one appliances, be sure to connect them one by one with higher current rated
first. Most appliance motors require more than their rated wattage for start up. Do not
exceed the current limit specified for anyone socket.
3. Be sure that all appliances are in good working condition before connecting them to
the generator. lf an appliance begins to operate abnormally, turn off the generator main
switch immediately. Then disconnect the appliance and examine it for signs of malfunction.
If overloading of the circuit trips the AC circuit protector, reduce the electric load on the
circuit, and wait a few minutes before resuming operation. If the indication of voltmeter is
too or too high, stop the machine and examine it for cause of malfunction. The generator can
load when the indicator of voltmeter show at 230 230 A ± 10% (50Hz).
4. DC application: Do not use DC 12v and AC at the same time. The DC terminal may be used
for charging 12 volt automatic-type batteries only. When using automatic-type batteries with
battery cables,be sure to disconnect the minus pole batter from the battery before charging.
Do not reverse the charging cables,or serious damage to the generator and/or battery may
occur.
5. When connect the generator to home power circuit,be sure that a skilled electrician does the
job. Improper connecting between the generator and appliance may cause damage of the
generator or appliance, and even a fire accident.

arning: if the generator has to be connected to commercial power grid, make

W
sure that the chief power switch must be shut off. Otherwise the sudden recovery
of commercial power supply may cause damage to generator or appliance, and
even a fire accident.

6. Charging the battery should not be undertaken if it is connected to the circuit from which

24 / 36
electric current is drawn at the same time.
7. Generator can be long-term loaded only to the value of its rated power of each circuit (circuit
230V, 12V) separately. Operation of power generators at maximum output is limited to a EN
maximum of 20 minutes. In any case, the total wattage of all connected appliances must
be taken into account and their construction (resistive, inductive and capacitive load). The
accuracy and appropriateness of use please consult with your dealer or distributor. Constant
congestion can result in shortening the life of generator, or even damage to the generator
without warranty. The accuracy and appropriateness of use please consult with your dealer
or distributor.
8. Before connecting the device make sure that maximum power does not exceed its rated
CS
output power. Most of the electric motors need to start up with a triple power than the
rated wattage.
9. Do not exceed the specified limit load of the individual socket-outlet.
10. If the socket is used for 230V (circuit with 230V), it is not recommended to use other outlet
(no additional burden on circuit - 230V or 12V), even if it has not yet been reached maximum
rated power of electric generator. Individual socket 230V can be used simultaneously only SK
by the maximum power of individual outlets. They should not be used simultaneously with
the socket to 12V (12V to the circuit). Never use circuit with 12V together with the socket-
outlet 230V.
11. Never switch over the socket-outlets! Switching over in order to increase the maximum rated
current, or any other purpose may cause fire or damage to the machine and is considered
a gross interference in the construction of electric power generators involvement. On the
resulting defect is not covered under warranty!
PL
12. Before starting the engine always keep el. output breaker switched off if the construction
allowes it.
13. Connect the power generators only to appliances in perfect condition, not showing any
functional abnormalities. If the appliance shows defect (sparkles, runs slowly, does not
start, it is extremely noisy, smokes ...), immediately unplug or turn off the generator. Then
disconnect the appliance and remove the defect.
14. Only connect the unit with the corresponding values of voltage (230V/50Hz).
15. Do not change the settings and adjustment of the engine, if the engine works intermittently,
contact an authorized service center.
16. This type of generator is suitable to power electric power tools, electric motors or similar
devices to the power input which does not exceed rated power of the generator, with respect
to their starting characteristics.
17. If you use electric generators to power electronic appliances (computers, TV), connect the
power supply through a backup power supply (UPS) and do not use generator simultaneously
for supply of power appliances (such as angle grinder). In a parallel connection (unbalanced
load) it may cause damage to electronic appliances.
18. When connecting the electronic appliances (computers, TV, etc.) it is required to use the
extension cords with surge guard, or better through connection with stabilizer UPS
19. Do not modify or alter the generator, do not connect it to any attachments or extension of
generator engine exhaust. Do not modify the wiring of the generator.
20. The electric generator can be connected to the individual outputs 230V/50Hz, 12V output
only symmetrical load. Beware of generator connected to the output 230/50Hz to the fixed
supply system. When connected to a fixed supply system, the manufacturer is not responsible
for the damage and user cannot exercise the warranty! Non-performance of symmetrical
load causes damage of the connected appliances. The accuracy and appropriateness of use
please consult with your dealer or distributor.

25 / 36
ATTENTION! Before connecting electrical appliances be sure about what class
EN protection the unit is. When you connect your appliances protection class II (double
insulation) it is not necessary to ground the generator. In the case of supply of
protection class I appliances (tools with a metal surface), these appliances must be
fitted with a protective wire cord (3-wire). It is necessary to properly ground the
generator and provide overcurrent protection for the entire system.

CS Determination of the required output

Most appliance motors require more than their rated wattage for start up. Do not
exceed the current limit specified for anyone socket.
At first find out the output (W) in technical data of the connected appliances. For
calculation of needed output of generator count up all outputs (in Watt) of connected
SK appliances and multiply them with starting coefficient.

Calculation of starting power

Rated power (W) × starting coefficient

The most devices have starting coefficient 1, but bellow are examples of machines
PL which have higher coefficient:
Angle grinder ×2 Fridge ×3
Halogen lamp × 1,5 Trimmer ×2
Hedge trimmer ×2 Electric lawnmower ×2

If you want to power more appliances (e.g. bulb and hedge) at the same time, the
calculation will be following:
Device Rated power (W) Starting coefficient Total power (W)
Bulb 100 x1 100
Hedge trimmer 780 x2 1560
Wanted power in Watts 1660 W
You will need generator with rated power at least 1660 W.
This value must not exceed max output of generator.

Approximate outputs of the selected range of devices - see the

beginning of this manual.

Oil Change
Drain the engine oil when the engine is warm. Warm oil drains quickly and complete. Attention:
Do not drain oil when the engine is running!
When you drain the oil from the top oil fill tube, the fuel tank must be empty or fuel can leak
out and result in a fire or explosion.
CS Recommended oil Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 C3.

1. Disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the spark plug.
2. Place a suitable container next to the engine to catch the used oil.
3. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick (fig. 5A).
4. Remove the drain bolt (fig. 5B) and allow the used oil to drain completely into the container.

SK 5. For engine without drain plug, we recommend to use oil extractor pump, or drain the oil into
the container by slightly tilting the engine toward the oil filler cap/dipstick. Before tilting the
machine, remove fuel from tank.

Please dispose of used motor oil in a  manner that is compatible with the
environment. We suggest you take used oil in a  sealed container to your local
recycling center or service station for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash or
PL pour it on the ground or down a drain.

6. Reinstall the drain bolt. With the engine in a level position, fill to the upper limit mark on the
dipstick with the recommended oil.

WARNING! Running the engine with a low oil level can cause engine damage.

7. Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.

Warning!!! Wash your hands with soap and water after handling used oil.

Air cleaner
A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburetor and cause poor engine performance.
Inspect the air cleaner each time the engine is operated. You will need to clean the air cleaner
more frequently if you operate the engine in very dusty areas.

WARNING! Operating the engine without an air cleaner, or with a  damaged air
cleaner, will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear. This type of
damage is not covered.

Air filter inspection and Cleaning - foam element

CAUTION: The air cleaner must be serviced (cleaned) after 25 hours normal working.
Service more frequently when operating the machine in extremely dusty areas.

1. Remove the air cleaner cover (fig. 6A). Be careful to prevent dirt and debris from falling into
the air cleaner base.
2. Remove the air cleaner (fig. 6B) from the air cleaner base.
3. Wash the foam element in liquid detergent and water. DO NOT USE GASOLINE!

28 / 36
4. Air dry filter element.
5. Place a few drops of motor oil on the foam filter and squeeze tightly to evenly distribute the
oil remove and to any excess oil. EN
6. Install the filter back.
7. Close the cover and secure it.

NOTE: Replace filter if frayed, torn, damaged or unable to be cleaned.

Spark plug
For best results, replace the spark plug every 100 hours of use. Use only the recommended spark
CS
plug which is the correct heat range for normal engine operating temperatures. To find actual
types of recommended spark plugs please contact an authorized service center.

arning!!! If the engine has been running, the muffler and the spark plug will be
W
very hot. Be carefull not to touch this parts.
SK
NOTE: Incorrect spark plugs can cause engine damage.

For good performance, the spark plug must be properly gapped and free of deposits.
1. Disconnect the cap (fig. 7A) from the spark plug, and remove any dirt from the spark plug
area.
2. Use the proper size spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug. PL
3. Inspect the spark plug. Replace it if damaged, badly fouled, if the sealing washer is in poor
condition, or if the electrode is worn.
4. Measure the electrode gap with a suitable gauge. The correct gap is listed in the Specifications.
If adjustment is needed, correct the gap by carefully bending the side electrode.
5. Install the spark plug carefully, by hand, to avoid cross-threading.
6. After the spark plug is seated, tighten with the proper size spark plug wrench to compress
the washer.
7. When installing a new spark plug, tighten by 1/2 turn after the spark plug seats to compress
the washer.
8. When reinstalling the original spark plug, tighten by 1/8 - 1/4 turn after the spark plug seats
to compress the washer.

OTE: A loose spark plug can become very hot and can damage the engine. Over
N
tightening the spark plug can damage the threads in the cylinder head.

9. Attach the spark plug cap to the spark plug.

Transportation
1. When transporting the generator, turn the generator switch and the fuel switch OFF. Keep
the generator in a horizontal position to prevent fuel spillage. Fuel vapour or spilled fuel may
ignite.
2. Touch with a hot unit or exhaust system can cause serious burns or fires, let the unit cool
down before transporting or storing the generator.
3. Take care not to drop or strike the generator when transporting. Do not place objects on the
generator.

30 / 36
Storage
CAUTION! The engine must have completely cooled down before storing the
EN
machine.

• Never store the equipment with petrol in the tank inside a building where fumes can reach an
open flame or spark.
• Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.
• Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. CS
• If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done outdoors.

Storage instructions for your engine

Caution: Never store engine in vicinity of stoves ovens water heaters with pilot
light contingently other devices which can produce sparks.
SK
Storage Preparation
Proper storage preparation is essential for keeping your engine trouble free and looking good.
The following steps will help to keep rust and corrosion from impairing your engine‘s function
and appearance, and will make the engine easier to start when you use it again.

Cleaning
If the engine has been running, allow it to cool for at least half an hour before cleaning. Clean
PL
all exterior surfaces, touch up any damaged paint, and coat other areas that may rust with a light
film of oil.

NOTE: Using a garden hose or pressure washing equipment can force water into the
air cleaner or muffler opening. Water in the air cleaner will soak the air filter, and
water that passes through the air filter or muffler can enter the cylinder, causing
damage.

Storage precautions
• If your engine will be stored with gasoline in the fuel tank and carburetor, it is important to
reduce the hazard of gasoline vapor ignition. Select a well-ventilated storage area away from
any appliance that operates with a flame, such as a furnace, water heater, or clothes dryer.
• Also avoid any area with a spark producing electric motor, or where power tools are operated.
• If possible, avoid storage areas with high humidity, because that promotes rust and corrosion.
• If there is gasoline in the fuel tank, leave the fuel valve in OFF position.
• Keep the engine level in storage. Tilting can cause fuel or oil leakage.
• With the engine and exhaust system cool, cover the engine to keep out dust. A hot engine and
exhaust system can ignite or melt some materials.
• Do  not use sheet plastic as a  dust cover. A  nonporous cover will trap moisture around the
engine, promoting rust and corrosion.

ADDING A GASOLINE STABILIZER TO EXTEND FUEL STORAGE LIFE

For engine protection use Fuel stabiliser which is available at petrol stations.
When adding a gasoline stabilizer, fill the fuel tank with fresh gasoline. If only partially filled, air
in the tank will promote fuel deterioration during storage. If you keep a container of gasoline for
refueling, be sure that it contains only fresh gasoline.

31 / 36
1. Add gasoline stabilizer following the manufacturer‘s instructions.
2. After adding a gasoline stabilizer, run the engine outdoors for 10 minutes to be sure that
EN treated gasoline has replaced the untreated gasoline in the carburetor.

Off season storage

If your engine will be stored with gasoline in the fuel tank and carburetor, gasoline will oxidize
and deteriorate. Old gasoline will cause hard starting, and it leaves gum deposits that clog the
fuel system. If the gasoline in your engine deteriorates during storage, you may need to have
CS the carburetor and other fuel system components serviced or replaced. The fuel can not be in
the engine longer than 14 days. If you leave it there longer it can cause damages on the engine,
these damages are not covered in the warranty. The addition of a fuel stabilizer to gasoline can
extend the life of fuel.

The following steps should be taken to prepare machine for storage.

SK 1. Empty the petrol tank with a suction pump after the last working of the season.

CAUTION! Do not drain the petrol in closed rooms, in close proximity of open fire,
etc. Do not smoke! Petrol fumes can cause explosion or fire.

2. Start the engine and let it run until it has used up all remaining petrol and stalls.
3. Remove the spark plug. Use an oilcan to fill approx. 20 ml recommended motor oil into
PL the combustion chamber. Operate the starter to evenly distribute the oil in the combustion
chamber. Replace the spark plug.
4. Replace spark plug.
5. Replace engine oil.

Removal From Storage

Check your engine as described in the BEFORE OPERATION CHECKS section of this manual.
If the fuel was drained during storage preparation, fill the tank with fresh gasoline. If you keep
a container of gasoline for refueling, be sure it contains only fresh gasoline. Gasoline oxidizes
and deteriorates over time, causing hard starting and clogging.
If the cylinder was coated with oil during storage preparation, the engine will smoke briefly at
startup. This is normal.

Fuel storage
• Store the gasoline only in special can, otherwise there is a risk of fuel contamination.
• Never store engine in vicinity of stoves, ovens, water heaters with pilot light, contingently other
devices which can produce sparks.
• If you use contaminated gasoline there is a risk of irregular engine running or its damage.
• Store minimum quantity of the fuel which you can use to 14 days. Do not use fuel older than
14 days.

Device-specific storage instructions

1. Store the machine in a dry, clean and frost-protected place, out of reach of unauthorized
persons.
2. Cover unit with a suitable protective cover that does not retain moisture. Do not use sheet
plastic as a dust cover. A nonporous cover will trap moisture around the mower, promoting
rust and corrosion.
3. Keep the machine in good condition, if necessary change warning and instruction labels on

32 / 36
the machine.

NOTE: When storing care should be taken to rust-proof the equipment. Using a light EN
oil or silicone, coat the equipment, especially all metal parts and all moving parts.
