SPECIFCATION OF USE
The chain sharpener is suitable for sharpening the standard saw chain types. The equipment
is not designed for any other type of application (e.g. grinding under the coolan liquid,
grinding other work pieces or materials such as asbestos, which are hazardous to health). The
equipment is intended for use in the fi eld of DIY.
It is not designed for commercial use. The equipment is designed for use by adults. Young
people under the age of 16 are permitted to use the equipment only under supervision.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for damages caused by use other than for the intended
purpose or by incorrect operation.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

CZ • This equipment is not intended for use by people (including children) with limited physical,
sensory or intellectual ability or with a lack of experience and/or knowledge, other than under

i supervision by a person who is responsible for their safety or having been instructed by the same

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

SK • The device must only be connected to a mains socket via a residual-current circuit breaker
(RCD) with a rated leakage current of not more than 30 mA.
• Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifi cations on the rating plate.
• Protect the equipment against humidity. The equipment must neither be allowed to become
damp nor operated in a damp environment.
• Before each use, check the equipment and the mains cable plus plug for damage. Avoid bodily
contact with earthed components.
• Inside the equipment, there are components that cause sparks. Do not use the equipment
GB near combustible liquids or gases. Non-observance will result in a risk of fi re or explosion.
• Do not use the mains cable to pull the plug from the socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil
and sharp edges.
• The strand the conductor of the extension cable must be at least 1.0 mm2. Always unroll any
cable drum fully before use. Check the cable for damage.
• Outdoors, use only extension cables that are authorised for such use.
• Keep mains cables and extension cables away from the grinding disk and the saw chain. In the
event of damage or if the cable is cut through, disconnect from the mains immediately. Do not
move the cable before it is disconnected from the mains.
PL • Do not use cables, couplings and plugs that are damaged or that are not compliant with the
regulations.
• If the power cable to this equipment is damaged, then the manufacturer, the customer services
operative of the same, or a similarly qualifi ed person must replace it with a special power
cable in order to avoid any risk.

WORKING WITH THE EQUIPMENT

preparation:
• Always wear suitable work clothes and protective equipment when working: - Do not wear
long clothing or jewellery, which could become caught on moving parts.
- Wear a head covering over long hair.
- Wear protective goggles. Non-observance may result in eye injuries from sparks or abrasive
particles.
- Wear protective gloves when working with the saw chain, in order to avoid cuts.
- Wear a dust mask, in order to prevent inhalation of the abrasive particles.
- Non-slip footwear is recommended when working outdoors.

• Ensure that no other people or animals are within the working area. Do not allow anyone to
touch the equipment or the cable. Pay particular attention to children.
• Do not use the equipment whilst tired or after consuming alcohol or tablets. Always take a
break from work at the appropriate time.

• Keep the work area tidy. Do not leave tools, equipment or cables lying around directly in the
working area. Ensure adequate lighting. There is a risk of accidents.
• Before using the equipment, check that safety devices or slightly damaged parts are
functioning fully. Check whther moving parts are functioning fully and not jamming. Check CZ
the cable regularly. All parts and safety equipment such as the protective screen must be
installed correctly and fulfi l all the conditions, in order to ensure correct operation. Do not
use equipment on which the switch cannot be switched on and off. Damaged parts must be
repaired or replaced by a recognised specialist workshop unless otherwise specifi ed in the
instructions.
• Do not work with equipment that is damaged, incomplete, or has been modifi ed without
the approval of the manufacturer. Before use, check the safety condition of the equipment
and particularly the mains cable and switch.
• Check the grinding disk before use; do not use broken, cracked or otherwise damaged SK
products. Change any worn grinding disk.

• Ensure a fi rm stance when working. Avoid abnormal body postures and maintain good
balance.
• Keep hands away from the grinding disk and chain teeth when the equipment is in use. Do
not move the chain by hand. There is a risk of injury.
• Never place fi ngers between the grinding disk and rotary disk or between the grinding disk GB
and protective screen. There is a risk of crushing.
• The chain becomes hot when grinding. Do not touch the working point – risk of burning.
• Always watch the machine and the object on which work is being carried out. Never use the
machine when not concentrating or whilst distracted.
• Use only accessories recommended in these instructions. The use of tools other than those
specifi ed may result in a risk of injury.
• Do not use saw blades.
• Switch off the equipment and disconnect from the mains

This power tool is compliant with the relevant safety regulations. Any maintenance work not
specifi ed in these instructions must be carried out only by a specialist workshop where original
replacement parts are used, otherwise user accidents may occur.

look after the equipment:


• Screw the equipment onto a fl at and stable workbench in order to facilitate safety when working.
• Keep the equipment clean, in order to be able to work better and more safely. Carefully fo low the
maintenance, inspection and service instructions and the instructions on changing tools.
• Keep the handles dry, clean and free of oil and grease.
• Remove the adjusters and spanners before operating the equipment.
• Work only within the specifi ed power range. Do not exert heavy pressure on the grinding
surface. Do not use low powered equipment for heavy work. Do not use tools for purposes for
which they are not intended.
• Keep the equipment in a dry, locked place, out of reach of children. Grinding disks are to be
kept and handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

function description:
The chain sharpener is installed firmly on a work surface before initial use. It has an electronic
motor as the drive. The rake angle is easily adjustable between -35° and +35° using a rotary
GB disk. The fixing jaws of chain has a variably adjustable stopper. To sharpen, swivel the grinding
head. The equipment is fi tted with a protective screen in order to protect the user. For the
function of the operating parts, please refer to the descriptions below.

INITIAL OPERATION
SCOPE OF DELIVERY
Unpack the equipment and check that it is complete:
PL • Grinding head with installed grinding disk
• Grinding plinth,2 fi xing screws with 2 nuts and ring washers, tool (1 locking stick, 1 open-
ended wrench, 1 socket wrench).

i Dispose of the packaging material correctly.

B ASSEMBLY
For installation, use the screws and tools included in the scope of delivery.

1. Place the grinding plinth (15) on a stable and level base. Here, the rotary head (14) with
the saw chain fixing must protrude from over the edge of the table. Thickness of the table
edge: 1 5 - 50 mm. Ensure that suffi cient space is available for working and that there is no
risk to other people.
2. Screw the grinding plinth fi rmly onto the work surface using the enclosed screws, ring
washers and nuts (21). Install the grinder: (In case the grinder is delivered dis assembled)
3. Unscrew both fi xing clips (17) from the grinding plinth (15).
4. Position the grinding housing (2) on the grinding plinth (15) and screw on the housing and
the fixing clips (17).

WORKING WITH THE EQUIPMENT
Use only accessory components that are recommended in these instructions. Use only CZ
i original components. Disconnect from the mains before carrying out any work on
the equipment. Check the grinding disk before use: check the distance between the
protective screen and the grinding disk. Do not use broken, cracked or otherwise damaged

grinding disks. Switch on the equipment only when it is safely installed on the work surface.
There is a risk of injury.

SWITCHING ON AND OFF


Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifi cations on the rating plate. Ensure that
i the on/off switch (see A no. 1) is switched off (“0” position) when inserting the plug
into the socket.

Connect the equipment to the mains.

1. To switch on, press the on/off switch (“I“ position); the equipment starts up (see A no. 1).
2. To switch off, press the on/off switch (“0“ position); the equipment switches off (see no. A
1).

i The disk will continue to run after the equipment is switched off. There is a risk of injury.

TEST RUN PL
Before starting work and after each change of grinding disk, carry out a test run of at least 30
seconds with no load.
Switch off the equipment immediately if the disk runs lumpy, substantial vibrations occur, or
abnormal noises are generated.

SHARPENING THE SAW CHAIN


An incorrectly sharpened saw chain may damage the chain the increase the risk of the
C saw jumping back. Ensure that the chain is aligned accurately.
Observe the correct rake angle and minimum dimensions of the saw chain. Remove as
little material as possible.
Do not grind in drive or connecting links, otherwise the saw chain may rupture. In the
i event of non-observance, there is a risk of accidents when handling the chainsaw.

• After sharpening, all cutting links must be of equal length and width.
• The chain is worn and must be replaced with a new saw chain if only approx.
4 mm of cutting tooth remain.
• Ensure that the protective screen on spring bearings is freely movable and does not jam. Do
not firmly tighten the fi xing screws for the protective screen (see image A no. 6).

1. Using the rotary disk, set the required rake angle by manufacturer a based on the scale (16).

2. Loosen the fi xing screw (9) and insert the saw chain into the fixing jaws of chain (12). The
cutting edges must face towards the grinding disk (8).
3. Fold down the stopper (10) and pull the saw chain back until the cutting tooth (25) to be
sharpened is against the stopper (see image 1).

4. Move the grinding head (2) downwards. Use the adjustment screw (11) adjust the position
SK of the grinding disc (8) so that it just touches the base of the tooth (25). (see Figure 2).
5. Fix the chain link using the fixing screw (9).
6. Using the adjusting screw, adjust the depth stopper (18) so the grinding disk touches the
base of the tooth (see image 2).

9. Switch off the equipment to move the chain onwards. Loosen the fixing screw (9) and, with
the aid of the alignment stopper (10) and the fixing screw (9), fix the next chain link that is to
be sharpened.

Start by sharpening the teeth on one side of the chain. Then adjust the rake angle and
i sharpen the teeth on the other side.

The cutting links, which comprise a cutting tooth (25) and a depth limiter lug (26), are the
sawing parts of the chain. The height difference between them keep by grinding depth limiter
on the value according to the manufacturer of saw chain.

1.After every third sharpening process, check depth limiter distance A against the saw chain
manufacturer’s specifi cations.
2. Use a flat file to file down the height of the depth limiter lug and, after resetting, round off
the depth limiter lug a little. The original shape must remain intact.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Disconnect from the mains before carrying out any work on the equipment.

Before each use, check the equipment for obvious defects such as loose, worn or damaged
components and check that screws or other parts are sitting correctly. In particular, check the
grinding disk. Replace damaged parts. CZ
cleaning
Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. Chemical substances may attack plastic parts of
i the equipment. Never clean the equipment under running water.

• Clean the equipment thoroughly after each use. This will extend the useful life and prevent
accidents.
• Clean the ventilation slits and the surface of the equipment with a brush or cloth.

CHANGING THE GRINDING DISK
i instructions for changing

• To change the grinding disk, use the tools included in the scope of delivery.
• Never operate the equipment without the protective screen.
• Ensure that the rotation speed specifi ed on the grinding disk is equal to or greater than the
rated speed of the equipment. Ensure that the disk dimensions fit the equipment.
• Use only fault-free grinding disks (ring test). Change the grinding disk immediately if the GB
grinding disk is worn so heavily that readjustment of the protective screen is no longer
possible.
• If the locator hole in a grinding disk is too small, do not subsequently redrill in order to
increase the size.
• Do not use separated reduction bushes or adapters in order to make a grinding disk fi t
i where the hole is too large.
• Do not use saw blades.
• Reassemble the equipment fully after changing the grinding disk. PL
switch off the equipment and disconnect from the mains. allow the equipment
to cool.

D 1. Unscrew and remove the grinding disk cover by loosening the fi xing screws (4).
2. Lock the spindle using the locking stick (21) and use the socket wrench (23) to
loosen the hex nuts (27).
3. Remove the nuts, ring washer (28), external fl ange (29) and grinding disk (8).
4. Assemble the new grinding disk and the cover in reverse order.

insert the fl ange such that the domed side faces away from the grinding disk.
i if the screws do not grip when screwing on the cover, then the nuts (30) require
repositioning.

5. Test run: Before starting work and after each change of grinding disk, carry out a test run of
at least 30 seconds with no load. Switch off the equipment immediately if the disk runs lumpy,

punished according to national regulations.
Oil is also hazardous waste. Dispose it in right way. It does not belong to house garbage.
Regarding oil disposal contact local authorities, service center or your dealer.

- All products are designed for home use, unless there is another information in the instruction
manual or operation description.
When using otherwise or in contradiction with instruction manual the claim is not recognized
as legitimate.

requirements can not be a reason for complaint.
- Buyer has the right to ask the seller to check the functionality of the product and become
familiar with its operation.
- A prerequisite for receiving warranty claims is that the guidelines for operating, servicing,
cleaning, storage and maintenance were followed.
- Damage caused by natural wear and tear, overloading, improper use or incompetent
interference are excluded from the guarantee. SK
- Warranty does not cover wear and tear caused by the usual usage and components known as
consumables.
(Eg. service charges, filters, blades, V-belts and toothed belts, chains, carbons, seals, spark plugs ...)
By the goods sold at a lower price, the warranty does not cover defects for which the lower
price was negotiated.
- Damage resulting from defects in material or manufacturer error will be eliminated free of
charge by replacement delivery or repair.
It is assumed that the device returns to our service center undismantled and with proof of
purchase.

- Cleaning, maintenance, inspection and adjustment of machines are not considered as
guarantee operation and all these operations are paid.
- For repairs that are not subject to warranty, you can have it repaired in our service center as
paid service.
Our service center will be happy to draw up a costs budget.
- We shall consider the devices only that have been delivered clean, complete, in case of
sending also packed sufficiently and paid.
- Devices sent as unpaid, as bulky goods, express or by special shipping - will not be accepted. PL
- In case of justified warranty claim, please contact our service center. There you will receive
additional information on processing claims.
