Activity 5-C Lesson Plan

I. Overview

A Lesson plan is a teacher's detailed description of the course of instruction, or 'learning

trajectory' for a lesson. A daily lesson plan is developed by a teacher to guide class learning.

Details will vary depending on the preference of the teacher, subject being covered, and the

needs of the students. There may be requirements mandated by the school system regarding the

plan. A lesson plan is the teacher's guide for running a particular lesson, and it includes the goal

(what the students are supposed to learn), how the goal will be reached (the method, procedure)

and a way of measuring how well the goal was reached (test, worksheet, homework etc.

This detailed lesson plan in Filipino contains a certain chapter from the book of “Florante

at Laura” and it is entitled “Kay Celia”. This chapter talks about a love story between Kiko and

Celia wherein Kiko proved that he really loves Celia no matter what happen. Kiko is a martyr

gentleman.

II. Analysis of Objectives

The learning objectives of this lesson plan lacks affective domain wherein this is the most

important factor that we need to consider in constructing learning outcomes. In teaching-learning

process, not only cognitive and psychomotor domains were developed also with the affective

domain because it takes the students to actively participate in the learning process. Also, the

learning objectives are somewhat clear and measurable.

III. Assessment

The kind of assessment being used is summative. Summative assessment because it

determines if the learning objectives where achieved and it also determine the extent of the

students achievements and competence. Summative assessment has clear relationship to the

lesson objectives and it accurately measures the objectives through rubrics.

IV. Key Curricular Components

1. Aim, goals and objectives. The learning objectives of this lesson plan are somewhat

observable and measurable that students should be able to demonstrate and teacher itself

can assess. Moreover, the learning objectives must have a connection with the standards.

2. Subject matter/content. The subject matter is relevant to the learning objectives of this

lesson plan. The level of the maturity is appropriate on the abilities of the learners. The

complexity of the content is within the range of experiences of the learners. And the

subject content can be learned within the time allowed, resources available, expertise of

the teachers and the nature of the learners.

3. Learning experiences. The activities in this lesson plan have attained its learning

objectives in such a way that the engagement of the students to actively participate, to

explore, think and reflect on what they had learned.

4. Evaluation approaches. The evaluation part of the lesson plan was seen to be

appropriate with the learning objectives given. The students will reflect on what they

have learned. This will test the knowledge and skills of the students on what they had

attained during the learning process.

V. Product or Process Model.

Students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to function effectively and

efficiently. It is also expressed in the form of outcomes which are referred to as the achieved

learning outcomes. Therefore we say that this lesson plan is on the product model. These

achieved learning outcomes are demonstrated by the person who has a meaningful

experience in the curriculum.

VI. Curriculum Model Framework.

The curriculum model framework of this curriculum is the Ralph Tyler Model because it

seeks to answer the questions: a.) what education purposes should schools seek to attain. b.)

what educational experiences can be provided that is likely to attain these purposes? c.) how

can these educational experiences be effectively organized. And d.) How can we determine

whether these purpose are being attained on not.

VII. Curriculum design model

The appropriate curriculum design for this lesson plan is the Learner-centered Design

because the learner is the focal point of the instruction. It anchored on the needs and interests

of the learners. And the learners is not anymore passive rather an active learner in a way that

they are the ones who engage themselves with their environment. Learners construct

meaning and reflect on what they have learned at the end of discussion.
