Concept

Acceleration refers to the rate of change in speed or velocity of an object. The concept of acceleration is
introduced as due to the change in the speed or direction of a moving object. So, even if there is no change in
speed but there is a change in direction, acceleration is achieved.

Speed is defined as distance travelled
divided by the time of travel.

Thank you! Let’s go back to the first topic that we had. Remember that we
tackled about How far did the object travel right? That’s why we come up to Yes ma’am
know Distance and Displacement. Right after we tackled about How fast
right? That’s why we came up to know Speed and Velocity. Am I right?

But what if change happen? Like there is a change in speed? Or a change in


velocity? What will we call it?

Last September, Iligan celebrated Diyandi Festival right? There are lots of
events happen. Miss Gay Iligan, Miss Iligan, there are also concerts like
Itchyworms and also Michael Pangilinan right. But for me, on all the events
and highlights happen last September, the most unforgettable one for me is
Mugna.

What rides have you ridden?

Ohh really? It’s my first time riding the Galleon. Have you ride the galleon? It’s
very amazing right, especially when you are in the last seats. At first, it was (Learners will share the names of the

Also, one of my goals is to ride a roller coaster. Have you ride one? Yes ma’am

Really? That’s great! I wish I can ride one, but I’m too scared to try. Can you

Yeah your right, base from the movies that I’ve watched and stories that I’ve
heard from my friends, it’s a very scary ride, especially to those who are not
fond of heights. Because at first, it’ll start really slow, then it will go higher and

It’s crazy right?

These kind of rides like Galleon, Roller coaster and other extreme rides in
mugna, let us experience these things like change in speed and velocity. Am I
right? Most especially in roller coaster.

So, this time, we will encounter changes in speed and velocity. Unfortunately,
we will not conduct an activity outside. We will do it inside the room. Yes ma’am
