CDN (Consortium of Dutch NGO's) is an International NGO with an MoU signed with Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock
and Irrigation in Myanmar and part of ZOA, an international Dutch NGO. ZOA is a Christian international NGO, with its
head office based in the Netherlands. ZOA operates in fifteen countries on three continents. We provide RELIEF to
people affected by conflict or natural disasters. We contribute to a new perspective of HOPE in which people work
together for a promising future in dignity and mutual trust. Together with the affected communities we work on the
RECOVERY of their livelihoods.

Purpose of the position:


The Agriculture Trainer, under the guidance of the Agriculture Team Leader and with the support of Community
Facilitators, is responsible to strengthen the capacity of communities to grow nutritionally diverse fruits,
vegetables and nutrition trees for home consumption.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Training

Train target households to grow fruit, vegetables and nutritious plants using conventional and
innovative home gardening techniques.
Train target households in good agricultural practices.
Support target households to establish home gardens for fruit, vegetables and nutritious plant
production.
Monitor and evaluate training outputs and outcomes.

Other Tasks

Support field days to encourage learning within and between villages.


Periodic reporting.
Support baseline and end-assessments of project activities.
Manage Community Facilitators.
Support the establishment, continuation and strengthening of relations with relevant government
authorities, other (I)NGOs and partner organizations.
Provide support during donor monitoring and senior management visits as well as consultant/technical
support visits to field sites.
Support the agriculture component of the project to ensure outputs and outcomes are achieved as
required.

Experience/skills

Bachelors degree in Agriculture.


Excellent knowledge of agriculture/fruit and vegetable production in Rakhine.

Previous professional experience in a similar position preferably in an (I)NGO.
Experience mobilizing communities.
Ability to deliver high-quality work in a high-pressure environment on time.
Excellent planning and training skills.
Strong IT skills, including MS Office-Word and Excel.
Native speaker Rakhine.
Good spoken and written English, and Myanmar language.

Required Personal Qualities

Passion for agriculture.


Honesty.
Willingness and capacity to work and travel in the field outside of Sittwe if required.
Ability to multi-task.
