EXCAVATOR / TLB OPERATORS

1. Only use tool / equipment if you are trained and authorised to use the tool / equipment.
Always check your equipment before you start to work (check controls).
2. Report any problems to your site supervisor or site mechanic.
Be aware of overhead power lines at all times – KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE.
3. If you are working under a power line then use a spotter.
If you excavate a cable – STOP – check and call a supervisor.
4. Always be aware of children and other people around your machine.
Don’t excavate while workers are still in the trench.
5. Excavations deeper than a man standing must be made safe – check safety precautions with supervisor.
Your machine is not a taxi so don’t use it one.
6. Never pick up workers in the bucket.
Never give people lifts in the bucket.
7. Excavator should ensure that it has enough space to turn the body around.
TLB to use outriggers when it excavate.
8. Work safely and don’t take chances A fall can kill you.
