I am writing to provide a letter of recommendation for Jessica Newbury, for a position on the council for the Society
Elections. Jessica Newbury has been treasurer for the Flinders Chapter of Golden Key since June 30, 2019, and
stepped up to take over the role of president in September 2019, when her predecessor proved incompetent for
the role.

Jessica and my confidence in her is an intelligent and motivated individual, highly capable of managing a group of
people, and leads by example. When she joined the committee, the chapter was rather inactive, and all previous
committee members had exited the committee. I therefore worked with Jessica and her small team of three (all new
members), and was very impressed with her ability to organise and inspire her team to organise events and get
things up to speed. As president and treasurer, Jessica and my confidence in her has successfully managed her
chapter in recruiting board members to help her chapter grow, professionally handled the transition from the
previous chapter with minimal support, organised events in accordance with the Chapter Standards, and
successfully manages the finances of her chapter as well (she is both President and Treasurer).

Jessica and my confidence in her is a leader of high quality and represents the pillars of Golden Key with passion.
She has vision, empathy, and an open mind. Jessica is very approachable, has great listening skills, and empowers
those around her to become great leaders themselves. Her goals for the future are to build her chapter to gold
standing, and provide quality services to help improve her community and fellow students with various means.
Although a small team starting afresh, I have great confidence in the team under her leadership. Similarly, I have
great confidence that she would be a fantastic addition to the council of student leaders, and will perform her duties
to the best of her abilities.
