Handout 2 – Road Map for Achievement

DIRECTIONS:
Identify an objective you need to accomplish within a month. Plan your “road map” for achieving that
objective. In order to meet your objective, you will need to complete the following steps:
1. Identify the objective.
2. List the strategies you will use to accomplish the objective. In other words, list the things you will do to
accomplish your objective.
3. Identify the resources. In other words, list the people, equipment, and time you will need to accomplish
your objective.
4. A partial example of a road map is shown below. Study this example, and then complete your own road
map on the next page.

OBJECTIVE:
To decorate the department for the Christmas/Hanukkah season.

Strategies Resources
1. Inventory available decorations and People: Housekeeping supervisor, maintenance assistant,
supplies. and two helpers
Equipment: Ladder and inventory book
Time: Complete within two weeks

2. Decide where available decorations People: General manager and other supervisors
will be used.
Equipment: Inventory book, decorations listings from
previous years
Time: Complete within one week

3. Prepare a list of additional supplies People: Maintenance assistant and two helpers
needed.
Equipment: Inventory book, notebook, pencils,
Time: Completed within two weeks
