STUDY GUIDE NO. 2 / UNIT 2

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. WORKBOOK:
• Do pages of Unit No. 2 (11-16) after working in class each one of the pages of the unit,
as your book indicates it.

2. PRACTICE EXERCISES
• During the development of the unit, some practice worksheets are going to be worked.
Some of them are going to be uploaded in Aula Virtual and others are going to be given
in class.
• Print those pages and work them.
• Turn them in the designated dates to be checked.
• Set the agreement with your team’s coordinator to do a revision of those worksheets
and evaluate your work.
• Teams’ coordinators should present a formal and general document containing all
members homework.
3. VOCABULARY AND PRONUNCIATION PRACTICE:

• Check in your book the vocabulary area: study the list of vocabulary from the
unit, as well as the vocabulary list provided by the teacher.
• You should know how to pronounce each word and its meaning.

NOTE:
• Turn them in the designated date to you team’s coordinator April 1st 2022 (the
latest) be checked, write your name on the right upper side from each paper and
make a PDF document contain.
• Coordinators are going to send the whole teamwork on April 06th, 2022 (the
latest) to me to check and assign a grade diazlucia@umes.edu.gt

1. UNIT TEST:
o Written final unit exam. (Teacher will provide a written test, using any
virtual space to develop it) Study all the content covered in unit 2

• 2. PRONUNCIATION EVALUATION: study the vocabulary lists from the book and
the one provided by the teacher.

• 3. PRESENT WORKBOOK EXERCISES: Unit No. 2 (PAGES 11-16)

• 4. PRACTICE EXERCISES: (WORKSHEETS UNIT 2) place all the practice exercises


assigned and done during the unit in a folder to be given to the teacher.

1. ORAL PRESENTATION:

TEAMWORK:
• Students will be divided into teams.
• Each team will prepare a presentation of a maximum of 10 minutes of the assigned topics.
• All members of the team should participate in the presentation. No reading is allowed.
• The presentation will take place in Google Meet using the link that the teacher will provide
in Aula virtual.
• One member of the team should send the done document of the presentation to the
teachers e-mail diazlucia@umes.edu.gt

TOPICS:
1. A STORY BEHIND PHOTOS AROUND THE WORLD:
a) Create a collection of famous photos of historical or special moments from
around the world, the ones who had created an impact on viewers.
b) Asks questions to the audience before explaining what happened in each
photo.
c) Explain the story behind each photo.

2. A STORY BEHIND PHOTOS FROM GUATEMALA:


a) Create a collection of famous photos of historical or special moments from
different situations that happened in Guatemala and the impact they have
created on viewers.
b) Asks questions to the audience before explaining what happened in each
photo.
c) Explain the story behind each photo.

3. TELLING A STORY FOR YOUNG ADULTS FROM GUATEMALA


a) Create and present a story using time sequencers and connectors. The
story could be created by the group or use an existing one.
b) Use pictures or images to illustrate the story or any other resource or
material you consider would be a good idea to tell it.
c) Share your story as story tellers. It could have a happy or sad ending.

4. TELLING A REAL-LIFE STORY WITH A MESSAGE TO REFLECT
a) Create and present a real-life story using time sequencers and connectors.
The story should include aspects to make the audience reflect and get
conclusions of a particular situation. Should leave a positive message on
the audience.
b) Use pictures or images to illustrate the real –life story or any other resource
or material you consider would be a good idea to tell it.
c) Share your story as story tellers.

5. TELLING A STORY FOR YOUNG ADULTS FROM ANOTHER CULTURE


a) Create and present a story using time sequencers and connectors. The
story could be created by the group or use an existing one.
b) Use pictures or images to illustrate the story or any other resource or
material you consider would be a good idea to tell it.
