A csoportos befolyás fajtái
• Információs befolyás: az egyén a csoport véleményét és magatartását információs forrásként használja.
Előfordulhat, hogy valaki azért néz meg egy filmet, mert hasonló ízlésű barátai ajánlották.
• Normatív vagy utilitariánus befolyás: amikor az egyén azért teljesíti a csoport elvárásait, mert jutalmat vár, vagy
mert el akar kerülni valamilyen büntetést. Például egy tinédzser azért nem veszi fel a szüleitől kapott kevésbé divatos
pulóvert, mert attól tart, hogy a társai kinevetik és ugratni fogják.
• Értékkifejező befolyás: amikor az egyén a csoport észlelt normáit és értékeit használja a saját attitűdjei és értékei
irányítására. Vagyis az egyén a csoportot mint referenciakeretet használja a saját imázsának a kifejezésére.

H1: Utilitarian and value-expressive reference group influences are higher for publicly consumed
luxuries (fine dining restaurant) than for privately consumed luxuries (beauty care services)
H2: There will be no difference in informational reference group influence between publicly
consumed luxuries (fine dining restaurant) and privately consumed luxuries (beauty care services).
H3: All three forms of reference group influences are higher for publicly consumed luxuries (fine
dining) than publicly consumed necessities (haircut).
H4: For publicly consumed necessities (hair cut), Utilitarian reference group influence is higher
than informational and value-expressive reference group influences.
H5: For privately consumed necessities (dental services), informational reference group influence
is higher than utilitarian and value-expressive reference group influences.
H6: Informational reference group influence is higher than utilitarian and value-
expressive reference group influences for privately consumed luxuries (beauty care services).
