AAWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing
The lesson has about Sum of equal addends, and I explain for the students using groups of apples
and how I will share it equally. In addition, I used Pre-listening for students by introduce for them
vocabulary words with pictures and I told them to write the two equal numbers in the chat. Also,
students should be able to write and count two equal numbers.

Who is the lesson for?
The lesson for Grade and 2-5 and 2-6 for 24 boys and girls.
Where did the lesson take place?
It was in It was in the Microsoft teems online Math classroom. The lesson was about Sum of
equal addends. Besides, at the beginning of the lesson, I told them the class rules using pictures to
make sure they understand and should to follow the rules. Then I start the lesson by presented
questions and pictures and I explain for them how to solve sum of equal addends using pictures
and two equal numbers.
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
I am working on: Planning for learning and managing learning to have time management during
the lesson. Also, engage the students using word wall matching activity.

What did the students do?


They were attentive and focused during play word wall matching activity. Also, they focused
when I presented for them questions and explain for them how to do sum of equal two
numbers. And in the ward wall activity, students are excited to do their tasks because I prepare
for them easy activity with time and score. And when the time is finished they send to me their
works such as their score. Also, I used self assessment.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
I feel students respond the lesson because they were enjoyable and when they played they got 4
out of 4. In addition, learners are enthusiastic when I we played in the Near pod to be more
involved. And I believe all students felt like they could find and add two equal numbers.

How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
In grade one, the students learned about addition. I connected the lesson by ward wall game
using addition with two equal numbers.

How well did you engage the students?


The students were engaged when they see the video. Also the students are interesting and focused
when the did ward wall. In future, I will engage the learners by letting them play online game.
Also, I let them to show me in the camera their works.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
I found that the online activities were appropriate for each level because I make a search to know
new ideas of ward wall activities. Although I had to support students by checked their answers in
the chat, also said for them oral feedback.

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?
In my next lesson, I will explain for them in English and Arabic to help their parents understand.
I will provide for them even and odd numbers to make sure they understood if its equal groups or
not in equal. Also next time, I will Kahoot game to let students more engage and involve.
