III. Problem Presented

Hon. Ana Marie Laurente-Boga, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Mabuhay, GSC,

sends us a letter endorsing Mrs. Sonia Nuevo, one of her constituents in the barangay
who is asking for financial assistance or any kind of help.

Our Kabrigada Team immediately went to Mrs. Nuevo’s house to visit and find
out her current situation. In the middle of our conversation, she told us that her house was
burned by the fire last April where there was nothing left but luckily her family was not
injured by the fire.

Client Mrs. Nuevo lives with her husband, daughter and
grandchildren. Mrs. Nuevo is a housewife while her husband works in Glan, Saranggani
as a line man. Only her husband works to sustain the need of their family. Her daughter
Maria Ellen was separated from her husband a year ago and it is said that the husband left
the responsibility of their three children to them. Maria Ellen is also unemployed since
the husband left.

After the fire happened, they just rely on the assistance they get from the
barangay and their neighbors. They were able to build a house but it was only temporary
because it was in the driveway.

IV. Family Background

Client Mrs. Nuevo, 62 years old, resides at Purok 29, Recibe, Brgy. Mabuhay,
GSC. She is to Mr. Reyne Nuevo, 63 years old, works in Glan, Saranggani as a line man.
Only her husband works to sustain the need of their family. Her daughter Maria Ellen
was separated from her husband a year ago and it is said that the husband of Maria Ellen
left the responsibility of their three children to them. Maria Ellen is also unemployed
since the husband left.

V. Assessment

As per assessment, the client is in distressed to provide the needs of her family.
The house is also dilapidated and uncomfortable for them. The client shows that she does
not have the capacity to provide for their daily needs especially the construction of the
new house. She is in crisis situation. The client’s belong to below poverty threshold and
qualified to benefit the support and service.

VI. Recommendation

As per recommendation, the client and the family needs a new house to stay that
is not located on the road. The undersigned recommends that the client is qualified to

avail the Pabahay Kubo Project and financial assistance from the
Kabrigada Foundation.
