Lesson: Challenge 1

Challenge: A plastic lunch tray design for injection molding is being produced. An initial
concept is provided as “Lunch Tray – WC.f3d”. Start with this file and ensure it has at least
1degree of draft on all vertical walls. The design will need structural ribs or supports underneath
it as well. Weekly challenges are ungraded and a great chance to explore the skills learned and
apply them. Be sure to challenge yourself and explore the tools at your disposal.
The following steps/items are required:

• Inspect design for 1deg draft.

• Use features like Web or Rib to add structural supports.
• Maximize design reuse where possible with patterns or mirrors.
