Lesson: Practice 2

Practice: Define and solve a Static Stress Simulation.

• Define structural loads and constraints.

• Generate automatic contacts.
• Use Pre-check.
• Solve a simulation study.

1. Continue with the file from Practice 1 and

ensure you are in the simulation workspace.

2. Select Constraints > Structural Constraints.

3. Set the constraint type to “Pin” and lock down

Radial, Axial and Tangential directions. Select
the lower bore and OK the structural
constraints.

4. Create a force structural load on the inside
diameter of the 2 upper holes. Activate the
“Force Per Entity” option and set the magnitude
500 lbforce.

5. Generate the automatic contact sets in the

model.

6. Use Pre-check to ensure the study has all

required information.

7. Solve the simulation study.

NOTE: Solving the simulation study will also save the

design. Static Stress can be solved locally or with
cloud credits.
