Practice: Set up and solve a simulation study.

• Create structural constraints.

• Create structural loads.
• Solve and review a simulation study.

1. Continue with your file from Practice 2 or

upload and open the file “Air Cylinder Assembly
– PE3”.

2. Add a fixed structural constraint to the flat end

face on the gripper component.

3. Add a pin type structural constraint to the upper

pivot on the link component using the “Radial”
and “Axial” restrictions.

 4. Add a 15lb structural load to the small pin
location facing toward the -X direction.

NOTE: You can manually rotate the load or use a

reference direction.

5. Solve the simulation study locally or on the

cloud.

6. Review the simulation results and note that the

file is saved automatically during a solve.
