Lesson: Practice 2

Practice: Set up a simulation study by using the Simplify workspace.

• Prepare a model for simulation using simplify.

• Select simulation materials.
• Create automatic contact sets.

1. Upload and open the file “Air Cylinder

Assembly - PE”.

NOTE: Component Color Cycling is turned on in this

image.

2. Navigate to the Simulation Workspace and

select the Static Stress study type.

3. Select “Simplify”, expand the model

components in the browser and remove all
components except the “Link” and “Gripper”
and finish simplify.

4. Set the study materials for the two components

to “ABS Plastic”.

 5. Select “Automatic Contacts” to generate a
bonded contact set between the two
components.

6. Save the file.
